Ironically, yes.
While most people still think that the late December birth is a myth, the evidence indicates that Mary and Joseph were travelling during the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah), when all adult males were exptected to be in Jerusalem. Hence the crowded "inn."

Very funny, but seeing as only three wise men and a couple of startled shepherds knew that it was Christmas, the reason Bethlehem was full was because records were to be kept for the first time (ie:B.C. & A.D. - we are now in the year 2007A.D.) and it was decreed that everyone return to the town of their birth to register.

they were booked up due to the decree from Caesar Augustus
that they had to return to their home city to pay tax there

and since EVERYBODY had to go - -
only a few rooms were available to travelers

and Yahoo! Travel had not been established

Its a good job us Christians have a sense of humour, because if we were like Muslims you would be up to your neck in soil with rocks being thrown at your head about now.

No.

They did not travel at "Christmas time". The inns were booked because everyone was coming for the census all at the same time.

I think that Jesus was born in a manger because there were no hotels and because the people were mean to him. I do believe that Jesus was rich and not poor though.

Interestingly, the bible doesn't say that Jesus was born in a stable. In fact, according to the bible, the wise men saw him in a "house".
