I have found that the word used to describe certain renditions of the scriptures: i.e. Versions, is referring to something translated from manuscripts into a certain language.
The oldest manuscripts are used by the translators to come up with a new version. All versions have idiosyncrasies which are indigenous to that particular translation. The translators choose which meaning of a word from the oldest manuscripts typically, and there may be disagreement as to the right meaning which varies from translator to translator.
So it is a very good study habit to establish a use for a concordance when studying the Bible. That way a person can discover the meanings of the words translated and with the help of commentators and the Holy Spirit, figure which meaning of the Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, or Aramaic word which is being used.
A conscientious Bible student will use all the tools available in order to make the study genuine in these matters. You don't have to become an expert in those languages, you just have to be aware of the varying meanings of those other languages to make an effort to be accurate.

There is only one Author of the Bible and that is, obviously, God. The Bible is called the "inspired Word" for this reason. God does not come down and do all His stuff out in the open. He uses us, each one of us, for His good purpose. Some all called to be writers and He used all those people in the Bible to write down what He told them.
I am assuming that you could not understand a Bible written in Swahili? Most people have a difficult time with the King James Version. Maybe the New International Version would suit your taste.
They are just translations so you can come to understand God's Word a little better. They all say the same thing - in different ways. Sola Scriptura.
(didn't get that? Google it)

How come there are too many people with ignorant opinions or versions of them?
Seriously, each is a work of professional scholarship and nearly identical.
But there is a bible translation for every level of education, for you I recommend the Today's English version from the American Bible Society.
Other religion scholars will see the humor in this. A real chuckle. SOS: snickering out silently.

Translating the Bible is like a puzzle. You have to try to convey what the text means while preserving its original ambiguities, making it readable both in public and private use, and maintaining a reasonable reading level. I have tried my hand at it several times.

There is one infallible and inerrant copy of the word of God for us today in english, the King James bible.
Many different people wrote down the words, but it was the same God who inspired them to put down the words he wanted us to have.
The God who made the world is able to give us his word in writing and to preserve it down through the generations so that today, at the end of time, there would be a copy of it.

That's a matter of opinion. Think about it most textbooks are updated so they are easier to understand for contemporaries. Why not the Bible. Granted there are some translations that ought not to be there.

because it is all HISTORY... HIS STORY!! The King James verson was changed so King James could get a divorce.. and if that was changed to fit him .. think about everything else that could have been changed to suit who ever wanted to change it..
Its very hard to believe alot of what you read in the Bible.. I want FACTS.. not stories!
