Well, stuttering is believed to be linked to emotional problems, or a problem in the brain...just wondering if that affects all language, or just verbal languages.

No, I don't believe the word "stutter" is an appropriate discription. While using sign language, a person may paused in search of a word. It's the same as a speaking person saying, "And, um."

I personally haven't witnessed any sign language stutterers, other than a few that paused to get their thoughts together before signing to me or others. Most of the time, when signing to me they had to sign slowly as I'm not a signer, but I know a few words & gestures & most of the sign language alphabet. Great question! Isn't it amazing how the mind works (or may not work in this case)?

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you & yours!

Interesting question and one, at first I considered stupid until I thought about it. I am not sure if that is the right word for it but I am sure, just like everyone, people make mistakes in signing. Have a star. A question that needs thinking about.

Probably not. It is hand gestures. They may make a mistake every once and a while, but they dont stutter.

I guess it's possible, if they have some kind of neuro thing going on, or the shakes from lots of caffeine or something like that. Or perhaps the DTs?

I don't think so, but maybe they get confused & don't sign correctly.
