The Lone Ranger's horse was named Silver, Silver is an unknown breed, Tonto was the Indian side kick of the Lone Ranger, Tonto rode a Pinto horse named Scout.

Kemo Sabi - Originally Tonto rode a horse named White Feller but when he died Tonto did ride a Paint called Scout.

A much more well known and influential adaptation of the Lone Ranger was the (1949-1957) television series starring Clayton Moore (though with John Hart as the Lone Ranger from 1952-1954) and Jay Silverheels as Tonto.
I used to watch it at a friends house because we didnt have TV.

TOPPER was Hopalong Cassidy's. CHAMPION (the wonder horse) was Gene Autry's and TRIGGER was owned by Roy Rodgers whose wife, Dale Evans, owned BUTTERMILK. Wild Bill Hickok rode BUCKSHOT and Annie Oakley's was TARGET. John Wayne rode DUKE in the film 'Ride him Cowboy' in 1932
