I'm having a recent long distance relationship with my boyfriend and I've talked about one of my female friend who is suffering from loneliness and who's living near his place.
After a couple of weeks, he asked me recently if she had anything planned for the new year celebration, because him and his friends (male) are throwing a party and she could come to meet some new people..
I had a weird feeling.. why do you think?
Is it jealousy? Is it normal?

Would it be just to 'be nice'.. my inner feelings tell me there is something strange (he never met this girl).. but..

I bet he is just doing something nice for you and your friend at the same time. If she is your friend, do you not think she would tell you if he tried anything with her? Do you really not think he realizes that as well? He is just being nice so don't ruin it. Trust, the basis for all great relationships, is essential in any, especially a long-distance one. Give it a try and see what happens. If he was untrustworthy, you need to know as soon as possible.

It is normal to feel left out specially during the holiday season when almost everybody wants to be together with their loved ones. You are away from your boyfriend and you feel that your (girl)friend will take your place during the celebration.
You just need to reassure yourself that your boyfriend is doing something good to help a sad friend. For you to feel better, why don't you join them through the power of the internet.
You can use the webcam to join the party by long distance instead of being left out from the celebration.
Take care. Happy holidays.

probably. Everyone thinks jealousy is a bad thing. It is there for a reason. Like anger it is a negative emotion but quiet normal. Long distance relationships are not normal and rarely work out.

Only you know why you had a weird feeling, nobody else can tell you what is happening in your mind, but it's very likely that the feelings arise from subtle feelings of mistrust and insecurity in your relationship due to the distance between you and your boyfriend.

It could be some jealousy, and I am sure you wish you could be there. I think you have to enjoy your own New Years Eve, and if you do not trust him then re-evaluate your relationship because any relationship especially a long distance one will not survive without trust.

You're feeling weird because she'll be with him on New Years and you won't.
Plus they're both lonely.
I obviously don't know either of them and they may be completely trustworthy. She may end up with one of his friends and you guys could double later.
I would make a lot of effort to be at that party too, if it's within your power.

yeah, but you brought it up to him about her, he wouldnt have known about her if you hadnt said anything, so i guess he was just helping out, but be careful, when he meets her, he might like her....why cant you go to the party as well, that way you can kinda get a feel for what is going on....and help your friend at the same time..

Jealousy and maybe a little insecurity because they are both at a distance and you're not there.

I don't think he'll do anything with her... more than likely your friend who is lonely will tell ya what goes down or if she meets one of your BF friends she will at least have someone... Trust you BF... and if ya can't maybe you should talk to him.

Don't worry about it. Your boyfriend is doing this because he knows you care about how lonely she is. I doubt either he or she would go behind or back.
If anything he probably wants to set her up with a friend of his!
