Yes. Yes I have. I have an introverted personality. I'm pretty shy. But I've always been attracted to guys who are outgoing. They make friends with ease, and attract girls pretty easy as well. But somehow, this one guy I was into who was like this, returned my affections. It threw me at first, but then I figured, he saw something in me, that I haven't seen yet. He liked what I had to offer, in terms of style, and attitude. He contradicted it as well as complimented it.
But now I'm with a guy who's more my style, but different enough to be my opposite in some ways. Because of this, we seem to have a lot more in common than I did with my ex. So I feel I can relate a bit more to my current guy.
Dating someone like you is good because you will have many commonalities and can have fun. But variety is the spice of life...so it is nice when your partner is a bit different so you can haVe things to talk about and learn from eaCh other, and grow from what you've learned as a result.

I honestly don't know how to answer, but I'll take a stab. I think it's because we as humans are multi-faceted. We have so many different sides to us, and different people bring out our different sides. I've had a boyfriend who brought out my goofy side; he was always doing something crazy. However, most of the other guys I've dated have brought out my hardcore side and my shy side, both at the same time. It's really weird.
But I guess who we "flock" with at a certain time just depends on circumstance and our emotional state at the moment. I have both straightedge and hardcore friends. I usually am attracted to innocent guys while I'm hanging out with my innocent friends, and hardcore guys with my hardcore friends.
Really it can't be boxed up like that, but there's certainly a pattern to it, I'm sure.

Good question! I think that it's different for everyone, just like people have different "types" that they're attracted to. In some cases people that have lotsa stuff in common might get along well because of that, but some people who are complete opposites might get along well because they both find each other interesting.

It's not a correct hypothesis. The like ones get closer to each other in reality. You can't expect human attraction and human relationships to go by law of Physics (regarding Magnetic attraction.....that opposite poles attract each other).

hi! i know exactly what you mean. actually when i took a psychology class in my university, our book asked the same question....which is more correct for relationships....opposites attract or birds of a feather flock together. in that particular book, it came to the conclusion that most people who have things in common are more likely to stay together long-term than those who are very different. i know they also say...if you are lacking in one area, a parnter who is opposite can compensate for that, so you have a complete relationship, but personally, i think having things in common is important.

in the first step both are just curious to know one another
bcoz the person in the front is totally diffrent than urself
but it may happen that after some time u felt really boar in their company since they have totally diffrent habbits and interests from you.....

i think opposites attract to a certain degree. you need to have tings in common but some different things as well
