I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

6 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

Psalms 18:1-8.

God is not a warm fuzzy feeling at all.... far from it.

God is everything. God is life and love. God is perfection and freedom. God is grace and truth. God is power and great light. God is justice and righteousness.

The true witness of what I really am and what's good for me.

Feelings are "the flesh", they come and go, there IS another Life which you receive when you get "born again" i.e. receive God's Spirit.

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3:6)

"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God." (1 Cor.2:9-10)

The mighty one YHVH (who inspired the Scriptures) is much more than a warm fuzzy. He is the Judge, and also the Savior. He has serious rules though, and does not give "free passes" for transgression. He offers us the strength and courage to do those things that are pleasing to Him.
