A lot can be said about Goddess Kali.
While worshiping near the cremation ground one gets reminded that the life has to come to an end and that lust for worldly things is a wasteful enterprise. One should remain ascetic even though allurements and wealth are spread before him/her. In Kaliyug, Kali and Ganesha are to worshiped for purity of hearts and benefits.

That will depend vastly on which aspect of Kali you understand/accept as true from the point of worshiping. Mostly Kali is a redeemer. In a less specific and less malevolent view point Kali is almost like a recycler...
However, historically, Kali has mostly been worshiped within an aspect of threat appeasing... due to fear of her wrath or something equivalent! From early on few have seen her role as a benefactor... rather Kali has mostly been understood as a demolisher! More recently, some have changed that view for a more "cycle of life" approach to Kali's universal role. Once again all of these issues are subjective as most oriental deities are severely multi-faceted.

It is correct to say that most deities have multifaceted philosophies. In India, Kali is one of the most loved of the goddesses. One philosophy holds that she is a destroyer and brings death to everyone "at time's end." The premise is that none of us can avoid death. To be aware of Kali (of death) drives us to live fully in the present moment and to not lose sight of how precious life is. To worship /love Kali allows us to love ourselves and those around us. Embracing the very fact of death allows us to get over the fear of death and embrace the beauties of life.

Destruction or revolution can be good, especially if your life is less than perfect.

Also if one embraces change, such as growing old or your life going off path, the world can be a more exciting venture rather than living in fear of loosing what you have.

Kali is everything. she is the Mother of us all, the totality of the Feminine . she is the raw power of Nature.....nurture & destruction, birth & death... to her children she is beautiful. we don't try to make her fit into the way we think, we don't try to pin her down with words .
