Is North Korea considered a developed country? They have it hands down on fanaticism, and they have the 4th largest military in the world, the largest naval fleet, but bad economics. 30 to 50 percent of their GNP goes to their military. I tried to post the link before but I couldn't. I'm kind of new at all this. But if you have some time go to google video and type in North Korea and watch the "google documentaries about their nuclear capabilities. It also gives you some background of the last 100 years or so. Those people are crazy!!
Population, only 26million

There are a few that have escaped, you should check out their videos also!

Ha Ha. Just for fun you should put this in R&S and see what happens!, Just duck!!

North Korea is not a voluntarily religious country. Its people are forced to treat its leader as though he is sublime. Younger citizens, raised in this atmosphere, may believe this, but I don't know about the older ones.

The U.S. probably leads in religiosity. We were first settled by Puritans and a Puritanical faith has always had its followers in this country. However, fanaticism was not a problem with us until more recent years, when faith became married to aggressive wars, in a movement akin to a Crusade.

So, I think religiosity is becoming our trophy, but fanaticism is still a minor part of it, with most Americans clinging to the Constitution and the Jeffersonian belief in Separation of Church and State.

Hitler's Germany holds the trophy in fanaticism. Hitler preached Christian faith, Christian goals. He fought for the "Army of the Lord." His followers joined him in these beliefs.

I believe Islamic countries have the highest rate of fanaticism. I think every religion is good except when the politicians use them as tools for their own purposes whatever.

I'm not sure how you could quantify "fanaticism".

I suppose you could measure rates of religion by the amount of people who attend some sort of religious service. I'm not sure which country that would be.

I'm also not sure of the point of your question. Are you implying that just because a country is religous in general means that it will also be fanatical? If so, I take exception to the question. Just because my friends and I may choose to exercise our right to religion does not mean that we are going to go out, strap bombs to ourselves, and blow up everyone who doesn't believe the way we do.

The answer is obvious. "Developed" countries have gone non-theistic in the last half century. Prime example:Norway.
The second highest GDP, unemployment below 1%, highest life expectancy, lowest infant mortality, 100% literacy and all this being, arguably, the most non-theistic country in the world. Compare that to our "dream".

Religiosity?? How about religiousness, or religiositude? Anyway, I think it's Liechtenstein, with a fanaticism rate of 42.459582% and rising by 0.006854% per annum. They have a development quotient of 87. I have several links, but they're all in the freezer. We're having them for breakfast next Tue, with eggs and english muffins.
