No...and you only get paid for those extra hours if the overtime was approved.

Not likely. A normal work week is 40 hours. Or between 8 and 12 hrs a day. Cabbies and some medical staff work 12 hrs a shift. Perhaps your contract just guarantees 16 hours.

Only if company policy and your contract state so. Federal law does not cover overtime until 40 hours have been worked.

Looks like you are a part-time employee who has worked overtime. The contract should also state about overtime pay. Check this with your employer. Your overtime might need pre-approval from your manager.

if the company made you work...i gues but if plan to do it voluntary..i really don't recommend it
