Dying for your country means much more than dying for a piece of land, it means dying to protect the people you love who live on that piece of land. If you believe that the fight you are fighting is for a worthy cause and your efforts to win will save your country and thus those you love as well, from some tragic fate.. then under those circumstances.. I think most people would die for their country, I would.

If necessary, yes. This is like an earlier question about whether I would die to save a child. I would reword it to say I would RISK dying for either purpose. I would risk death for any value I believe in, because I'm 60 years old and have had my fair share of good times already. If I could save something important by risking death, no big deal.
Of course, no one wants to die pointlessly.

No, because I dont believe in the current foreign policies. I value my life highly - its not been easy on times. Being a pawn in a countrys war game doesnt do much for me. My heart goes out to those soldiers killed in wars ,that only now we have the real reasons why they started.I would much rather die for family.

Yes!! I was wounded in Iraq and have lost the use of some of my left leg because of it. Would I do it again for the United States or our allies. Yep I wouldnt change a thing. I would fight for the Uk or Australia also. There are times when a man fights for what he believes is right.

i was born in Australia, but my entire family are Egyptians. Now i live in Sudan and i'd be a stupid idiot geek if i died for it. i can die for Australia but not and never Sudan. and i can never kill a human, read the bible in one of the four gospels Jesus said to the Apostle Peter (when he cut off the ear of the high priest' servant): who ever kills with a sword will also die by a sword. that mean any weapon not only a sword.

It depends on the situation at hand. If a terrorist rat was planning to strike here or even any other innocent target, I would give my life to stop him.
