we can say that 50 = 4m + 18 then m=(50-18)/4 m=32/4=8
then number of markers will be maximum of 8 pcs.

4m + 18 ≦ 50
4m + 18 - 18 ≦ 50 - 18
4m ≦ 32
4m/4 ≦ 32/4
m ≦ 8

∴she can buy a sketch pad and 8 or less markers.
