That's true what Chipmunk said about Beckett's not being free, however, if you can afford the $6 a month for an online price guide, they are the best source for pricing your cards. It will require some diligence on your part knowing their quality and how to judge if they're in just good condition to near mint or near perfect.

The other thing that I have always liked about Beckett's is that you get so much more than just the price guide for your money. You can actually cross shop dealers all over the US as well as catalog and inventory your collection. Also, they have excellent staff writers that publish informative articles not to mention a ton of freelance writers (like myself) that write great articles about the hobby every month.

Regarding the use of eBay, that gets a thumbs down in my book only because of the fact that they are only reflective of what the "auctioned off" price is, which in no way indicates the true value of the card.

Beckett isn't free.

eBay.com completed sales are, however.

(Actually there is a way to wrangle gratis valuations out of Beckett, but it is complicated, time-consuming, and not really worth it unless you have very good but not insanely rare stuff, as anything with a serial run of 25 or less simply isn't priced. Completed sales on eBay show true market responses.)
