it is quite natural for northern society and has survival value. There is less sunset so we tend to sleep to keep warm and conserve energy, bit like hibernation.
Your hormone levels and fat levels will change during the winter. In some climates you might also drink more alcohol which will make you sleepy.
You can train yourself to sleep a little less, but it might be better to wake up with the sunrise and to go to bed earlier than your usual time, late night weekends also play havoc with your 9-5 weekday routines so Monday morning is made worse.
Try more regular exercise, gym or swimming sessions, try eating more in the morning and less after 6pm, so that your body wants to be active in the daytime.

Because we like to be warm and snug, so we hibernate in our beds since we can't get outside. Tis the season. Merry Christmas!

It's worth taking vitamin D, which is typically low in the winter; you never know your luck.

Probably circadian rhythms, but possibly some seasonal affective disorder (SAD). You might have to adjust your diet and use an alarm clock.

it is called hibernation, don't worry, its a way of conserving body heat and cutting down on eating when food is scarce and you can't leave your cave because of snow. ;-}
