The present US policy is not working. Why not do something that actually would work?

Peace

America has talked to "rogue" regimes before & is generally friendly to most dictatorships in the Middle East.

Adeptus Astartes: the Iranian regime is actually very eager to talk. It is this administration that does not want to talk.

scredawg: You have not talked to Iran. It is ironic how many of your problems would be solved if you did.

When logic finally find a place in US politics ?! When war supporters finally realize the war based economy been obsolete for almost 20 years ?! When Americans realize we cant go kill people and steal their wealth coz we like to live in mansions and drive fancy cars in modern freeways?!
When we the people get the control over our nation and kick criminal Elites out for good ?! When ........................

Not only you are very beautiful, but also very bright and logical.

To tell you the truth, I doubt Bush will talk to them. He is really looking for war. The try to shove down on our throats that Iran are making nuclear weapons. And what happened a few weeks ago? A new intelligience assessment indicated they weren't making any at all since '03. The United States has lost its way in communicating with the world. This is why we have less friends more enemies. I don't see Iran as a threat, I see them as a type of country we can perfectly get along with. They even had a huge candle vigil when 9/11 happened. You see, it's our current leaders imposing these ruthless sanctions and unjustible reasons to make them look bad, but it's the other way around. We just don't have the same styled republicans/democrats as we used to have, like Reagan for example.Everyone in both parties(except Paul)running for president wants war with Iran. But, here is something you probably be interested. Have you heard of Ron Paul? Many think he's a loon, but he makes very perfect sense to me! If you haven't, I beg you if you can look him up. He's stated he would talk to Iran and Cuba, withdraw all of our troops from Iraq, including the whole Middle East, he voted against the war, and he voted against the sanctions for Iran. He's like a present-day Thomas Jefferson, lol. Well if we can elect him, you'll start to see some huge changes, and our Foreign Policy. His foreign policy is all about free trade, communicating around the world, and less wars=]! But that could be the only possible way to have our good old American character. I hope this country can get right back on track and do something about.

It's about time "We the People" should restore the Constitution.

When the current war monger in the White House is out and his influence is diminished. the US can talk to Iran, and many other nations at any time. The History of failure in diplomacy is written in blood across the face of the world, Vietnam, China, Korea, Japan, Mexico, Hawaii, the N. American Indian nations. All a result of failure to communicate, to make and keep honorable treaties and to follow the principals of human rights, democratic process, reasonable negotiations

Talking to Iran would likely open the doors to inspections to find the real truth of what is going on and what the progress is toward peaceful or hostile use of the technology.

While we take our usual hostile position, Russia is aiding and abbetting Iran to continue with development and use of reactors that will use the fuel already being made.

The people of Iran are wonderful. I have some very nice friends of Iranian descent.

The "leaders" of Iran are atrocious. The words barbaric and lunatic are understatements of galactic proportions when describing Iran's "leaders".

The "US will change course and talk to Iran" when the people of Iran change course and revolt, overthrowing the barbarians who control and oppress the people, and who threaten other nations with destruction.

I truly love the people of Iran and I am so glad to have met the Iranian friends I have.

Having the right negotiators from both sides meet at a neutral site, no presidents involved. Reach an understanding on how dialogue shall be conducted. Recognize each other's nation and builld an embassy in each capital.

Only then can a peaceful solution be sought.

I don't see this happening with Bush in office. He had a very good chance for peace during Khatami's administration, and Kharzai was a much better Foreign Minister.

Adeptus, when has Iran attacked America? They helped us fight the Taliban in Afghanistan.

When the next administration, if it is Democratic, arrives. Before then, I suspect Bush and his crowed will continue their arrogant, cowboy bullying attitudes. Even when Iran has made overt gestures for discussions Bush has ignored them. Americans who don't realized that history simply don't do their homework.

They will talk only after we have a administration that is willing to talk.

The Bush administration is not willing, so hopefully after the elections we will have a president who cares about Americans more then war profiteering.

When Iran stops executing children because their parents raped them.

Perhaps if Christians were allowed to celebrate Christmas in Iran, that might help also.

I think that Iran is feeling impotent because their army of a million was defeated by a mere 300 Greeks.

The US... Change course? You mean back off?
LOL Iran isnt going anywhere. The US is going to have to get used to a nuclear Ayatola.
Oh, CHINA has a multi BILLION dollar contract with Iran, refining oil and natrual gas. I dont think China will allow us to attack THEIR buisness partners.... Unless the USA promises to leave China's interests untouched.

Greed killed this country. America has become TOO dependant on the world for trade and resources. We rely on the world for air, so-to-speak.

In about 1.5 years, when a new group of politicians are elected to office. Maybe. Then again, the US does not have a long history of good diplomatic relations with Iran. The people of the US have very little voice in foreign policy.
