Since decent people will always be, chivalry will never die.
It is a matter of culture, of genuine kindness and feeling.

Not dead...maybe just a little shy. There still are some chivalrous men out there today. Honestly, I think chivalry should make a come back! I know I appreciate it!
Best wishes!

A most decisive and resounding NO! Chivalry is not dead, but it has largely fallen by the wayside because people don't know what to do with it when it's offered. Gallantry is now mistaken for creepiness.

Not at all; any more than I think that "politically correctness" is an impediment for anyone with a sufficient vocabulary.
Good manners and chivalry have always been alive and well for those who realize their value.

I don't think it's dead, I think it has been forgotten. Women are mostly to blame with the "women's liberation" movement, the culture pressing men to "get in touch with their feminine side", and women throwing themselves "out there" like a piece of meat and disrespecting themselves with their actions of nudity and sleeping around.
I think men just don't respect women any more.
There are a few men out there that still treat women with chivalry, and I am thankful for them.
My opinion.

chivalry is not dead. many people today don't display it because we have been programed into thinking that if you do something nice for someone, they are just going to run all over you for it. and unfortunately, some will. but, thankfully, there are still people out there who try anyway.

No. It's still alive and well among the smarter men. Women who are appreciated and treated as ladies tend to live up to it, and both men and women -- indeed, civilization itself -- are beneficiaries.
Chivalry is where we get our modern good manners. Well, perhaps "modern manners" and "good manners" are self-contradictory, but those lovely old-fashioned gentlemen make being a lady worthwhile!
Never underestimate the power of gratitude.

it should be. no guy should be obligated to save the distressed heroine. chivalry makes the relationship harder for men. With the presence of chivalry... "did he open my door because he wanted to or because society told him that was the proper way?"... without chivalry every sweet action my man does is because i know he wanted to just for me. now isn't that much sweeter?
