I wish that I could give a resounding yes in answer. However, the current front runners are still playing by the same rules. Do you think really that the next President will repeal any of the atrocities which this administration has done to the constitution? It is like income tax (where I grew up) devised as a way to pay for the second world war, and WOULD be repealed. It never was. If any of the candidates had the courage of the conviction held by the majority in this country, well, then, yes, sanity would prevail. One more note - just how many lives are being saved right now? I am a little confused, I do not think that any are. They are all collateral damage.

I think more American lives will be saved without Cheney and Bush. They seemed more interested in saving American dollars than lives.

Yes, I have noticed similarities between saving lives and saving souls for Jesus.

I hope I can get "genuinely" saved from the hypocritical and superstitious nonsense the "corruption of collaborators " Bush/Cheney tries to spread to make a well-heeled living on lies!
Are you kidding? Eating Iraq: Corruption Rules and Cholera Rises While Insurgents Surf the Surge
on the ground in Iraq, where some good reporting still filters through the white noise machine of the corporate media, the picture is much different. Iraq is being eaten alive by the corruption of collaborators with the American occupation, by the relentless spead of disease and extreme privation -- and of course, by continuing violence, including the increased use of civilian-slaughtering airstrikes by the "surging" American forces, and by "ethnic cleansing" and other brutal operations by terrorists and sectarian militias now in the pay of the Bush Administration.
That continuing violence can clearly be seen in the latest report from IraqBodyCount.org, which estimates that at least 1,100 Iraqi civilians were killed by war-related violence in November, including at least 75 civilians killed directly by U.S. forces. This is what the great Bush and Cheney call "success."

Absolutely. They are provocateurs, escalators, and real dumb in their policies. What do you expect from far right Repos -- a grasp of the situation and talent in meeting it? Forget it! They're so wrapped up in telling themselves how the "free market" (rigged for themselves and their cronies) will solve EVERYTHING. They WANT war -- 9/11 was the best thing that ever happened to Bush and Cheney. Throw the bums out, let's start living again -- starting with ditching the phony security clearances at the airport, put on strictly for show and totally ineffective -- Exhibit A for "the guy who plays a President on TV but doesn't know jack about being a real one"

I would think more lives would be spared, regardless of national origin. However, this would also depends who takes his place in the Oval Office. Should it be another warmongering neoconservative AIPAC lackey, then it's likely more lives would be needlessly lost due to strong adherence to the doctrine of pre-emption.

Christers are more concerned about saving FACE (for their mythical lord and "savior") rather than genuinely saving someone from a life of hardship and self-destruction. For them, it's about buying their way into "heaven."

Americans are warmongers. You may not be right about bush or cheney.

It is more about looting Iraqi oil than american or iraqi lives.

More for Oil company and helliburton.

i think the christians are talking about saving immortal souls or some such stuff. i guess...i dunno.

now as for the other, lives are spent for a reason. if a new administration doesnt want to support that reason, then less lives will be spent. will that save american lives? i dunno. depends on what else happens. maybe some terrorist will get off a lucky BIG BOOMER and destroy los angeles or something. who knows?
