My daughter is 16, we've been having "the talk" for YEARS. After this came up, she brought it to my attention, it's easy to talk about when you start out slow, and never stop. :)

Well I'm here as the "16 year old kid" point of view.
Some kids will be promiscuous, others will know better and will wait and know when it is the right time, you really can't force your kids to do or NOT do something, cause honestly, it'll back fire on you if you try and do that. Let them know you'll answer any questions they might have and just hope that they'll do whats right in the end, that's what parentings all about.
Cause after all, that is what it all comes down to.

My daughters already know about the facts of life. Still, my older daughter, who is nearly a year older than Jamie Lynn, is shocked to hear that someone who is younger than she is is having a baby.

I'm sure of it. Nickelodeon confirmed it, and it's just a shame. Now both of the Spears are in tough dillemas. They have both really screwed up their lives. I can't believe she wants to keep it! This is my opinion and solely my opinion.

No, there was no need. My 13 year old stepdaughter finds it just as disturbing as the rest of America.
