there seems to be a TREMENDOUS amount of ignorance on this subject out there.

in my professional and personal opinion ( i am a psychotherapist and specialize in treating sex addicts) this is one of THE most devastating addictions.

too many people think that looking at porn EVEN a little is ok. hmmm shall we do a little cocaine today? SAME THING!!! youre saying: no it isnt... sorry, studies have been done. CONCLUDING: a man looking at even attractive women (if he is hetero) produces the SAME chemicals (vis a vis: DRUGS) in the brain as snorting a line of cocaine.

the evidence is present. so, is it bad: EMPIRICALLY, YES!!!

can you do a thing about it: probably not... however you CAN go to a 12 step program called COSA it is for friends and family of sex addicts.

visit this website:

and especially this one:

if you need direct help see this site, wherever you are:

good luck!

If he looks at it like every now and then its okay, but if he is addicted by like looking it everyday then that is bad. Its worst if he is looking at porn every time he turns on the computer. So yeah its bad if its to serious, but if its like once in a while because he is bored then its normal. But if its an addiction then its bad. So i suggest you try and get him to lighten up on the porn, though you can't really blame him if he is a teenager, though most girls don't like if there bfs watch porn, so it could cause problems in the long run.

I think that depends on how addicted. Every normal guy watches port but it's those guys that confuse how a real women is and a porn star that have the problem. My bro in law hasn't had a girlfriend in years and I seriously think that his standards have been set way too high because of the way porn stars look.

Yes. Just by saying "addicted" and you labeled it already. It is a sickness and your brother needs help. Porn is gross, unhealthy and it ruins many relationships, divides families ans make you its slave. It is not easy to quit but it is not impossible. It takes a lot of will power but it is all worth it. Help your brother become a free person .

Yes, it is bad. Like you have said, it can be an addiction, just like being addicted to drugs or alcohol. It can drag a person down, cause them to lose their job, break apart relationships, and generally ruin his life. Encourage your bro to get treatment from a psychologist right away.

Could be if he is obsessed. Sometimes, people addicted to porn use it as an excuse to commit crimes of a sexual nature. Once the crime has been committed, their addiction is their excuse. If he watches it every waking minute, yeah, it's a problem.

Well if he is married it could be bad. But if it takes control of his life then I would say yeah. However you also have to look at what he may be going through, say he lost a girlfriend or he is stresed out. those are some of alot of resons why he could be doing it .Give it time and if it becomes a major problem tell someone.

Any addiction is bad as it deprives us of choice.

What difference will it make to your brother if you find an answer to your question?

Is he aware of a problem?
