bush was put in a horrible position after 9/11. out of fear, he's made some bad choices. also, evidence suggests that dick cheney and others in the administration really did have a long standing grudge against iraq and used 9/11 to finish up what the original desert storm didnt. so, i think bush has relied to much on his subordinates.

the new congress certainly hasnt hepled things as we are now just grid-locked. congress is trying to force a liberal agenda on him and he has gone veto crazy.

bush is still ok by me. 9/11 just changed everything. however, the country is not in a good way at the moment and um, it's time for a change, demo or repo, (just not the hillary machine). mccain, biden, anybody, but it is time for a change!

1) Freedom of Speech let's me bash this idiot.

2) Karl Rove and Dick Cheney run the country. He is only in office because of them. (You wonder why Haliburton got so rich off Iraq now?)

3) Any good historian can tell you history has a tendency to repeat itself. It worked for Sam Houston and for JFK. Yet every time a situation presents itself Bush goes the opposite direction. (Note Condie is a Russian Historian, understands history, how everything works, yet nothing gets done right).

4) He does not read any newspapers. He has his advisors dictate the news back to him. He has stated this in the past. So he gets spoon fed what he wants to hear, and cannot formulate opinions on his own.

5) And while he may not be throwing up "Schwasticas" his favorite thing do it is call everything terrorism. The only thing worse than him is Guilani with his noun + verb + 9/11 sentences.

6) For republicans as a whole, he's killed any chance of them winning the middle class vote.

7)He's helped big business (even though big business shot itself in the foot). Has done nothing to protect blue collar workers by letting the dollar lose value... Even Canadian dollars are worth more now...

8)Pissed off the education community with unfunded mandates (No child left behind act). Has not put his terrorism dollars where they need to go in the big cities (Why does a small 1000 pop town in Missouri need 10 million dollars for security?).

9) Even our closest ally England hates Bush. Blair was blasted for supporting Bush and his antics.

and to make this an even 10...

10) Every President gets made fun of. He just makes it waaaaaaaaaay too easy.

Did you feel the same way about Bill Clinton? I don't mean to imply you didn't; I'm just curious if you will stand behind the leader of our country no matter what he decides if he weren't a Republican.

As for why I hate Bush:
There's the Iraq fiasco you mentioned.

I believe his entire strategy for fighting terrorism is counter-productive. He's too heavy-handed with the military, which causes unnecessary civilian deaths and only encourages their relatives to support terrorism.

He conducts searches without warrants and tried to assume the war powers of the president without a declaration of war from the Congress.

I believe his economic policies favor the wealthy at the expense of middle and lower class Americans.

His environmental policies are atrocious.

Infrastructure and disaster assistance services have obviously suffered during his term.

I believe Bush has just been an all-around poor president. I think he'd be a blast at a barbecue or just to share a beer with. Unfortunately, as president, I think he looks out for his friends at the expense of looking out for all Americans.

You are right. No matter if the Commander of Chief is not perfect. Should still have some respect. I can't imagine having that job. No one is happy or thinks the same. Can anyone else do any better? Look at all the Presidents on down the line. There were always issues with the Citizens. That will never change.

Here's a clue for you: standing behind the leader, no matter what is fascism, not democracy. In a democracy, you question everything. You debate everyting. Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.
Why do people hate Bush? Because he is an ignorant, arrogant, incompetent asshole who stole the election from Gore in Florida in 2000 and stole it again from Kerry in Ohio in 2004.

Are you kidding? You basically say here: Bush has done things that have hurt us and our country, but you are standing behind him anyway because he is our leader. The thing is this: he ISN'T doing what is good for the country. He is killing our soldiers for no good reason, significantly increasing our deficit, destroying our economy and environment, throwing away all international credibility we have, usurping our Constitutional rights, and lying his butt off while doing it. It doesn't make any sense to follow him if he is screwing everything up. Germans did the same thing for Hitler. Were they right? Now, I don't think Bush is Hitler, but the concept is the same: if your leader, especially a democratically elected one, is messing up, then the people have the right to be angry, to ridicule him, and to raise a fuss. Not only should we NOT stand behind him, we should be demanding his impeachment. He is not worthy of the office.

He's a republican. It's the rules. The day he announced his candidacy for president craig kilborn made a joke about killing him. A republican president must be hated.

Sorry, country comes first. I think all the past presidents we've had would agree.

Oh yeah, I don't hate him either. I just think he is dumb. Can't get mad at a four year old. Anyways, the direction this country is being lead is so predictable and its not a good direction.

I don't hate him. I respect him professionally. While I disagree with some of his decisions, I really think that he is acting in the best interest of the country. He does have a backbone and does not change his mind based on the polls.
