a friend thought it would be funny to go really fast in a car over a set of railroad tracks and make the car fly into the air. it didnt feel like they were going any rediculous speeds, but definately over the limit, and i hit my head on the roof of the car. i get headaches from EVERYTHING and right now i have a minor headache, mainly in the area where i hit the roof. my friend told me not to go to sleep because i could have a concussion. other than my headache, i feel fine. upon reading though, i read that that could be a minor concussion. i dont think i have one. but better safe than sorry. anyone got any quick information whos intelligent in the medical field and not just taking a guess, asap?

no, the friends were two different people. the kid that was driving the car wasnt the kid that gave me advice on concussions and such, and she actually found me legit sites as well.

Go ahead and go to sleep.
For years, people used to think that if you fell asleep when you had a concussion, you'd go into a coma or never wake back up. We understand it more now and know that it's okay to go to sleep. If it was bad enough for you to be comatose, you'd be in a coma by now. Now it's just a medical myth we still hold onto. Some people will answer this question freaking out, but if you can still function as well as you describe, even if you have a concussion, you're fine and you'd probably do well to get some rest.
EDIT: People are saying, "If you had a concussion you wouldn't be able to type right now!" THEY ARE NOT DOCTORS. There are levels of severity, and you may still need medical attention if this persists. Take care of yourself :)

1. You probably do have a minor concussion. That's what my doctor had said when I had a similar thing. How minor, that I don't know. It may be best to go to the hospital to check for sure, because you don't want to risk things with your brain.
2. Do you live with anyone at home? If so, ask them to wake you up in the middle of the night (every 2 hours or so) and ask you questions like your phone number. If you answer correctly, go back to sleep. If not, go to the ER.
3. If you are alone, ask someone (friend, mother, neighbour) to call you in the middle of the night every 2 hours to wake you up. If you don't answer the phone, ask them to come and take you to the ER.
4. Even if you feel fine, for the next 2-3 days don't get tired, fysically or medically, don't exercise, don't go to clubs etc. and if possible, since it's the week end and you don't go to work, just stay at home and take it easy.
I am glad to know you are fine!

First of all, if you did have a concussion, you wouldn't be able to remeber that much about what happened. Also, you would be throwing up anything and everything. Finally, the whole sleeping after a concussion is a myth. When I was in the hospital with my second concussion, I asked the nurse if I could sleep and thats what she told me, so my sources are pretty reliable.

I think you will be fine. My child fell and hit his head really hard last year and immediately he started vomiting, talking out of his head, having vision problems. We went to the ER and he had a mild concussion. So it sounds like you just have a painful bump.

nah, you don't have a concussion, otherwise you wouldn't be typing, or wouldn't spell using correct grammar. go ahead and go to sleep, it's nothing to worry about.
