Doesn't that break one of the more fundamental (in fact the first) of the 12 commandments set forth in the old testament?

I AM THE LORD THY GOD, THOU SHALT NOT HAVE STRANGE GODS BEFORE ME.

And all you religious creeps follow jesus as if he were god, will he be the one judging you when the world ends or will it be god?

from my understanding of the whole thing, GOD IS RUNNING THE SHOW, not jesus.

Christianity is a faith based upon the prophesy that a Messiah would come and restore the house of Israel to it's rightful position and status with God. The Messiah came in the form of Jesus/Yashua to absolve the Israelites of the original sin committed by Adam and Eve. Acccording to the faith God requires a flesh and blood sacrifice for the atonement of sin. Jesus/Yashua was that ultimate sacrifice. Human death was not enough. Jesus/Yashua would have to triumph over death through resurrection. So Jesus/Yashua rose from the grave and commisioned his apostles to go out and spread to good news of salvation to the Israelites.

According to Acts a Pharisee pursecutor of the newly formed Christians named Saul claim to have been struck by blindness on the road to Damacus and during that time was instructed to take the message of salvation to the "Gentiles".After Saul's convertion he changed his name to Paul and when about his mission of spreading the "Gospel" throughout the lands if the eastern Mediterranean and Rome. It was an epistle to the church of Corinth that Paul proclaimed the "Supremacy of Jesus". Paul said that there was never a time that is known to man that Jesus/Yashua didn't exist. So for all intents and purposes Jesus/Yashua in spirit form existed in the beginning. Being that God of the Bible is omniscent God knew man would fall into sin before man was created therefore the need for a saviour was preordained.

In the 3rd century after the death of Jesus/Yashua. The Emperor Constantine I declare the all the territories and colonies of Rome would be converted to Christianity. At that time the Counsil of Nicea was created and the Roman Catholic Church and Christiandom was officially born. One of the tasks of the Counsil was to figure the identity of Jesus. It was declared based upon the present belief system that Jesus was God manifested in the flesh. Also the Counsil devised the concept of a triune God in which Jesus/Yashua represented part of the "Holy Trinity".

From that point on Jesus/Yashua was considered to be God by the Christian church. This was important because from this came the concept of Heaven and Hell. According to Christians one must accept Jesus/Yashua as the saviour of the human race and God or that are condemned to the eternal damnation of the lake of fire. This belief separates Christians from Jews, Muslims and Pagans. It just so happens that because Christianity is the faith of the colonizers of the world that was colonized and conquered by believers of the faith. I hope this answers your question. I know this a lengthy explanation but it was necessary. I don't think a simple and short examination would gave injustice to this question. I can deeper to explose more of truth. If you care to go deeper I suggest i been done outside this venue...

Christians answer that with the idea that God is the Holy Trinity -- the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

These are the three faces of God.

There is a rather complex theological explanation of the whole thing. It would be like trying to explain quantum physics in a couple of sentences. Certainly not something you can get a simple answer to on yahoo.answers.

Christians break ALOT of rules as set forth in the bible. You mentioned a good one. Here are a few more....
1) Worship no graven image---the crucifix and the statues of the virgin mary.
2) Do not pray to the dead on behalf of the living---all those saints are merely dead people.
3) Only God can judge/fogive your sins---how can a preist absolve you of your sins?
4) All men are equal under God, no man is closer----so where does this leave the Pope?
5) The sabboth IS the Seventh day, Saturday---even christ held this, MEN changed it 300yrs later.
6) Christ said "Love every man as he were your brother"----christians launched the longest war in history (crusades), the whole Ireland thing, and lets not forget the convert or die policy the vatican had for around a thousand years.
7)render under ceasar that which is Ceasars, and to God that which is his---the vatican has been involved in monarchies forever; and even the US was founded by religious malcontents.
Maybe the church should be asking ITSELF these questions instead of us on yahoo answers.....

No, because Jesus is God.

God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one being, referred to as the Holy Trinity. When talking about God, you are referring to the God part of the trinity.

Because Jesus is God. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one being, the Holy Trinity.
Jesus is God in human form, who walked on earth with us humans.
And well, I hope that gives you a basic idea.

you're hopelessly at a loss for words, and gets your head on straight away. before everything, for the reason that god is a fiction, the thought of a sacrament in the eyes of god isn't clever. Sexual orientation is genetic, and is not extra "deviant" than the colour of one's hair -- nor any further "correctable". (all people who instructed you in any different case is a charlatan, out to get your funds, or a fool.) And that may no longer a Christian usa, nor the different faith.

Yeah that's always been something odd, thats why it's a little odd when people follow prophets like Jesus and Muhammad since they are not Gods they died and God cannot die.
