Yes, my younger ones are almost 5 & 7! I don't know how many times I've heard "It's only xxx days till Christmas!" Or, "I wish it was Christmas today!" Or "Can I just open 1 present." We also made a green & red chain link with a bell at the top & the bell reads "How many days till Christmas? It's mighty hard to tell. Take a link off every night when the sandman casts his spell. And Christmas will be here by the time you reach the bell." One day my daughter takes off a red link & the next day my son takes off a green link & they are constantly counting the links & letting me know! I have to admit I'm just as excited as they are though! :0)

Of course, you know my youngest is 10 years old. But, he has been too busy arguing with his 16 year old brother to say too much about Christmas. He has actually been more concerned about giving presents this year than receiving any. But, he has asked once or twice if he could open a present. He is very into wrapping presents for his friends and buying gifts for others. This is the first year he has been this into giving. He has always liked giving gifts but this year he has really become more aware of the less fortunate. I'm not sure what has caused him to be this concerned but I am thankful that he is.

I have two grandchildren, 3 and 1 they understand that Santa is a nice man who gives little kids candy at the mall. They don't get the whole toy concept. But I know as the biggest kid in the house I can't wait till he gets here. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

That must be cool - for me, christmas is all about kids

6 and 12 -- the 12 year old hasn't said anything. The 6 year old made an "advent" chain at the Boys and Girls Club -- It's great, when she asks how many days, I tell her to go count the links. We're doing counting, addition and subtraction PLUS keeping her from driving me crazy.

I don't have kids, but my friend works for an after school care program, & the kids do that. They range from a yr.-17. But the 4, 5, & 6 yr. olds say it a lot.

Yes, I have a son that is 17 months old. He is just starting to notice Christmas, but he has learned two more words, tree and cookie (which he says "cook cook" for it). He's also afraid of Santa, but that'll change maybe next year.
