What is/ are the difference(s) between Apparel and Fashion design, is it the same thing?
Because I was looking at the Art Institutes and they have those two different programs < would this be about the type of degree: one year, two year..>

Part 2: I want to go to one of these school, but my drawing isn't that great, so could I be able to go to a community college and just take art classes, then create a strong portfolio?
One last thing
For those of you that have had experience in this sort of schooling, would you suggest a certain Art Institute or ANOTHER fashion centered school?

Apparel is real clothes you'd find at k-mart
Fashion design is make believe (couture) something you may see once!
Ralph lauren is polo Apparel
Bill Blass is fashion design/couture also has an apperal line at say macy's of fancy stores.
Best to take Fashion design cuase you come iwth look and ideas!
