For days, until I searched this question, I had NO idea what was happening. I just knew it was at random Yahoo related websites, and that my computer was talking to me, apparently from nowhere.

I'm just irritated that they got around my popup blockers and such, and after I realized I didn't have some sort of virus, I just thought it was some ad for a dumbass comedy show, or a mock news show. Still I felt strangely violated, this is very much an audio popup! I can't turn the thing off and I'm tired of hearing it....and worse, I hope that other advertisers don't take this and run because I do NOT want this type of stuff on Yahoo pages, regardless of what they have to say. Can you imagine this technology in the hands of a political campaign or some other group of passionate nutjobs??? God help us.

Re: the actual commentary, obviously this is sarcasm, they aren't funny but they aren't meant to be serious either. If I heard this banter on a late night talk show, I would have chuckled because I knew it was stupid, a JOKE, an absurd thing to take seriously. I agree that it doesn't have anything to do with Gap stuff, so I would not be inspired to shop there as a result of this ad.

That company has certainly gotten some major bad gap. . . . .I mean rap this year with all the news about clothes being made in sweat shops. I suppose when you get to be one of the "big boys" you think you can do what you want to who you want and no one will bother you because you are too almighty powerful.

I would never put another dime into this lousy company, for thinking it is ok to dump jet fuel into the ocean and because they think it is ok to force feed there ads to us and not allow us the option to turn the stupid annoying thing off!!

Remember the clothes "for children, by children" campaign?

There IS such a thing as a law that prevents child labor.

Gotta be the worst run ad campaign ever. Definitely is not an environmentally friendly ad either.

it's wrong to do that to innocent animals. i guess those people don't have a soul, what if the sea creatures dumped crap all over them?
maybe they are angry because the clothes they sell are extremely ugly, only weirdos wear them.

What I don't get is what the hell does it have to do with GAP?

Are "good" and anything having to do with corporations oxymorons?

It is occasionally necessary. But it doesn't pollute the ocean -- it evaporates.
