I think Riley Lynn is a very nice name; but, that name could be used for a boy or a girl, and could cause some people to think your child was a boy when she was a girl, or a girl, when she was really a boy.

My youngest daughter's name is Robin. She had a male teacher also named Robin.

I would suggest you choose a name that is easily recognized as masculine or feminine, whichever sex your child is. You might also want to consider the spelling. My name is spelled Jeanne, which many people pronounce Jean; but, my mother wanted it pronounced Jenee. My sister's name is spelled Joan, which most people pronounce like Joan of Arc; but my mother wants it pronouced Joann.

As a teacher, I can tell you I am constantly struggling with names that are very pretty, but very difficult to identify as male or female, and very difficult to pronounce the way a mother intended!

I LOVE it. Very very good name for a girl. (the spelling of Lynn suggests a girl)
I am a huge fan of girls names that are more common used for boys. like Jorden, Jaden, Jensen, Taylor. All the Riley I have ever known were a boy. and Lynn could be a boys name Lyn. It's my middle name is Lynn I was named after a male friend of my Mom's.
My oldest daughters name is Jorden Rae. ( I went with a different spelling) The other is very girly Emily Ann I needed something to go good with Ann. If I had known at the time that Emily was such a popular name I would have choosen with something different. If I ever had an another daughter I would choose either Jaden Mae or Jensen Mae.
