I was 40 weeks yesterday. I know when I was/am due. My Dr has always said I was due on the 26th Dec not the 21st as I worked out. Yesterday I was put in hospital due to leaking fluid and loosing mucous plug and the midwives this morning wrote I was 39weeks+1Day and in my chart it said I was 39weeks+2Days. Which by those dates I wouldn't be due till 27th/28th Dec. Just wondering if anyone else has ever had these descrepencies with midwives/ Dr over dates? I told them and they didn't fix it even though they said they would.

They agree with me. All my ultrasounds have agreed with the date. I understand that a Due Date doesn't mean the baby will definately come then, but the reason I am so sure is because I had to use fertility durgs to fall pregnant and only had sex at a certain time on a certain day. Thats why I am sure of my due date.

I know how you feel. Its really annoying My due dates have varied at different times too.
The way I see it, I have a 2 week due date. Sometime in the first 2 weeks of January?? Its a pain though.
I too know when I conceived and its like they take no notice of what your saying. It obviously doesn't mean much to the Dr and nurse so they are careless reading the charts.
By the sounds of it though - you sound like your only a few days off. . Good Luck

the doctors will assess your ultrasounds (measurements of baby) and last menstrual period and base your due date off those. Usually the first/earliest ultrasound will give you the most accurate due date because u/s takes a measurement of the baby and gives a period of time since conception. (sometimes we can be off by a few days on conception) This then gives you a due date.
I know after this long you just want to be due, but if they think baby is still a week off due then trust them. They do know what they are talking about. Even if your lmp was 40wks ago now, the conception might have taken place a few days later than you thought resulting in a slightly later due date.
Don't worry, baby will come when ready. Actually sounds sooner rather than later! A few days doesn't matter, you're full term now don't worry about the actual weeks anymore its not really relevant if you're already in the hospital and things are happening.
Best of luck and fingers crossed you'll be holding your little bubs soon!

I recently delivered my baby and had different due dates throughout my pregnancy. I had figured by my period to be due on October13. My first ultrasound said November 11. The midwife wrote down November 19. It drove me crazy the entire time. I delivered on November 13. I was always asking about the differences. Here is what the doctors/midwives said:
I figured by my period, which can be irregular at times, and everyone ovulates differently.
The midwives measure your stomach and go by size, which baby's size can vary.
The first ultrasound is the most accurate, because the early development of a baby is on a schedule. So, go by it.
It sounds like baby will come soon anyways, I am sure you are anxious.. just sleep off these last few days... you won't get to rest like that again for a while.

the nurse may have found that measurement on an ultrasound if they wrote it down after checking your fluids and the NST. Sometimes I think they may look at the little pocket chart wrong. When I told my doctor the date of my last period (when I was pregnant) the due date was off by 5 days when they did the ultrasound (the first one). I would ask the nurse if you are still there. Ask where they are getting that date.

Yeah I've heard of it before and it has to do with 2 facts. The first thing is unless you KNOW exactly when you got pregnant a due date is an estimate and can change. and the second is that they will sometimes adjust it if the tests and ultrasound show it to be an off date. Personally I don't think that a mere 5 days is anything to worry about, and since your little bubble is doing fine why complain?

My ultra-sound said I was (at the time) 23w3d pregnant but before that the doctor thought I was 11wks because he was going by my last period.
If the period thing was right I would only be 24weeks now... but as it is I am 36weeks 4days.
Doctors and midwife can be wrong, you might want to go by the date the ultra-sound said... if you are/were 40weeks yesturday that just means you have gone over.

I'm the same as you. I had morning sickness 2 days befor said I was actualy pregnant. But they say I am due on a Wed. and they change my weeks still on the Monday. It's annoying, I had sex one day all month and KNOW when I concieved. It's annoying but there isn't much we can do.

I figured out my due date myself and it was Aug. 21. The ultrasound said Aug. 6th, and my doctor said Aug 13th....the baby came Aug. 16th due to late pregnancy problems....but see how they can be wrong....
