The Dune series of books are very good. I think I read them all and I think they'd make great movies. Unfortunately the Dune film from the 80's was hated by fans of the book and people who didn't like the book.

I wouldn't even put those in the same league as a re-make, and any energy wasted on the idea is wrong.
There was one Dune. Sting was in it ok? ONE DUNE

There was a movie and a mini series/made for TV movie.
where do you get 5 remakes from?
I think someone Else's interpretation of the novels would be very welcome if it was done right.
