In my opinion, one needs to step into the other person's shoes and consider how your reaction would be if that were you rather than him or her.
It takes maturity to be able to relate to other's feelings and to not make fun or life but to treat people with respect and dignity.
Laughter or feeling like laughing results from being made to feel uncomfortable.
If none of that resonates within your soul then stop and think about your being a parent and this is your child that you love and how you would want people to treat your child.
