Most people don't go into it to rise up the ranks, unless, you make a career out of it. You're also focusing on a single church, some sects allow female pastors, and women in higher ranking offices.
Religion needs to adapt to the times, not vice versa, otherwise they will find themselves short of members quickly. It was after all people like you that made me leave organized religion.

For starters most people who go to church don't become pastors, or even aspire to it. Women are no different. Expressions of faith and personal goals do not always (if ever for most) coincide.
And there are very few sectors of Christianity that do not allow female pastors, catholics, Orthodox Greek, Lutheran Missouri synod, and a few others. For the most part though, while sexism within the church has not been erased, the church has come a long way.

Hey, they could even read a bad book and do good morals. Or they could write mediocre book and do good alpenhorn. Or they could do good pastor and move up in the rank in file cabinet. Or they could watch a move and move their butts to the music of dead man talking -really' really really late at night with Tim McVeigh. Or they could put on their Sunday best JFK assassination brainhats and come to my church and watch the cows come home from the roof of my chicken coop. Or they could change their religion, along with a sick cows drawers (what can I say...I just think they look cute in them huggies), and wish to HELL they never read your question OR my answer. And for those of you that did both, don't you feel like a complete idiot? Don't you need to be saved? Don't go looking for straight and fallowed here. Best I can do is offer you a cracker. And it's stale.

Even with the inadequacies of some religions, women (and men) still go to their churches because of their faith, not because they are looking for power or position. Some women (and men) have left these churches because of their sexism, some stay to change it, others take the good they can from the church and ignore the rest.
I was brought up by a fundie minister. I left the church, but know many women and men who struggled with their faith, when faced with a church filled with sexism, racism, and homophobia.

ok, the bible dose not recommend that women are teachers in the church. I will give you that. However, church is not about moving up in rank. It is about fellowship with other christians and learning to have a personal relationship with God. It is about training your children in the way they should go. It is about Jesus and the sacrifice he made on the cross. It is not about status. I am very sad for you. You seem to have missed the whole point?

What a lovely, hostile question about women in power in a CHURCH!
I don't think God cares what gender the person of God is; if that person has devoted their lives to God and serves others as He would it doesn't really matter.
See a movie or read a book to do good morals. What are you - 12 years old?
EDIT - if you go to church for status, you are going for the wrong reasons. I mean, helloooooooooo.

Although I'm generally a modern woman, I do recognize that the Bible seems to say that women should not teach religious matters nor speak during sermons. I don't understand this rule. But I follow it anyway.
As for why I go to church? Well, church isn't so much about glorifying me as it is about glorifying the Trinity.
Fortunately, I don't think God dislikes us women. The end of Proverbs says volumes about how virtuous a good woman is. It talks about how he who has a good wife has found a "good thing". In other places in the bible, Wisdom is referred to as "she" (I think). He also instructs men to love their wives as the Lord loves the church..........which is lot.

There is more to church going than morality. People go for the salvation. What better rank is there than that of being one of the many to be counted as worthy to gain eternal life with the Father?!!!!
Now that's why I attend church, the ultimate prize at the end of it all.

I go to Church to be with God. and NOT to earn points. I like going to Church so I can become a better Person. I want to become closer to God. and I want my Daughter to be proud of her Mother.
What is YOUR problem? Women have a right to go to Church. are YOU saying Women should stay OUT of Church? if you are saying that. go and read the Bible. every person has the right to Worship God. no where does it say Women stay away from Church. I just don't see what your trouble is.

Where does it say it in the Bible?
EDIT- Oh and you go to school to become a pastor...not church...and it's not Sunday School. Sounds like you really know little about the Christian faith...but it was a good try.
