I recently purchased some so called proof 70 presidential dollars. I recived them in horrible condition and was very dissapointed. There were clear finger prints on some of the coins. I was just wondering if anyone else has recived bad coins from HSN.

Buying coins from other than a reputable dealer is not wise. Coin collectors for years have complained about the TV shopping networks. They sell over priced and over graded coins. Return them if you can for your money back. Modern proof 70 coins must be slabbed and only 4 services are really up to par, PCGS,NGC,ANACS and ICG. Being an old timer, I in my opinion have never seen a perfect coin nor do I think I will. Paying a heavy premium for Proof 70 or even MS 70 coins is not a good idea. Right now some of the so-called best grading services are being looked at for what is called Grade Inflation. Dealers like them for they make more money. When it comes to coins or stamps or actually any collectible one must check around before buying, seek out some local dealers and see what they have and what their prices are. At the dealers get a copy of the latest Coin World or Numismatic News weekly magazines and see what is going on. The TV shopping networks on coins as well as the private mint items are bad investments for one will never get their investment back.

I did not buy the coin, but I thought HSN has a great return policy? I know this because my friend bought a Esteban guitar and when reading some review, some people had to return but had no hassle at all. Hope the problem will soon resolve for you.

I would return them, call their customer service immediately before you handle the coins any further. Explain the situation. See what they can do. If they refuse to do anything and you paid by credit card, file a complaint with your credit card company. If that fails, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
