My fellow Americans, our neighbors to the north are very good at acting. They are nice to our face... but you should hear what they say behind our back. I was there a few weeks ago, and you know what they say about us? They say Americans are all fat, ignorant and uneducated. They can't go 5 minutes without having a go at the second amendment or our healthcare system.

Not ALL Canadians are like this, only the few you dealt with. Why is it someone judges a whole race or country by what just a few of them from that race or country say or do? How is that fair to those who don't say or do those things? My ex-husband and most of his family are Canadians, and they don't say any of that stuff about Americans. They also have family in Canada and none of them say any of that stuff. Can America meet or beat the Canadian health care system? NO! They may have a higher cost of living, but that is how it is in that country. If you want people from other countries to be respectful of you and your precious country, then you need to be the same way with them. Do you think that you, or anyone else, is perfect? NO, no one is, so don't try to act like America is or Americans are perfect. They are just as much human as Americans are. The things you have said are NOT being respectful and every human being deserves respect. In fact, it is showing how prejudiced you can be and how much you seem to like to put others down, and how much you consider everyone to be the same in a race or country just by the few who act one way or do things one way. It shows what little character you have as a person. Sorry if the truth hurts!

I don't hate someone just because they point out our flaws. Heck, our own citizens can do a far better job. Besides, as far as I'm concerned, they're right in the areas you mentioned. Over the past several decades our educational system has become a farce; graduating scores of seniors who can barely read or write. All you have to do is read most of the questions here to see how poorly students are taught when it comes to grammar and spelling. We're not perfect, you know.
