Is it illegal to prank call? I called 800-600-6014. All I said was, "Do you have any chicken in stock?" The lady said, "Yes, and I also have the police..." Do you think she was just saying that so we wouldn't call back? or is it illegal to prank call? It wasn't harsh or anything. What do you think? :-)

Well...it is against the law, but I have a feeling that she just said it to scare you. Don't worry the cops will not come knocking on your door if she did call them. You're safe!!!

Well you better read the laws from your state As well as the FCC and Title 18 Us Code (Which Happens to be the Federal Criminal Code.
In all honesty its not wise to prank 800 numbers as they have a record of the call even if you have the number blocked.
So your creating a record on yourself you silly :) LP

I wouldn't prank call any kind of company, store or any 800 number, they might do something. Just stick to normal people.

Did you even block your number? I doubt the police were there, there are worse crimes out there. They don't have time to worry about some prank calling little kids.

Why don't you just grow up? Prank calls are childish and yes, they can get you into trouble because you are harassing people.

yes, its illegal, but seldom reported unless it continues from the same person (phone number). NOTE - if you called an 800 number, they have your number!!!! Suggest you not do it again.

It's not good to prank call and if it could be shown your call caused harm, like tying up the line during an emergency, then you're in doo-doo. Please don't.
