I have wanted to be a model for about 2 years, and about a year and a half ago I told my mom. She was gonna let me do it, but she didn't really want me to. She never really mentioned it again, but I still want to really bad, and I am afraid to ask again. I am 14. What should I do?

Its definitely not about money or because she thinks I won't be good enough. Its mostly because she doesn't want me to get too into my looks.

i say if its really what you want to do just kinda mention it to her and see what she says but dont make a big deal of it or kinda ask hr like hey mom what would you think if i was a model but again dont make a bi deal of it and hen if she has an ok reaction then kinda find out if there are any modeling contests or pagents around you and then mention them to her and be like what would you think if i went and did this or something but the main thing is not to make a big deal out of it because if you do then your mom wont be happy and if moms not happy then most of the time your not happy.
hope that helps

It depends on what you look like, For most girls I would recomend that you forget about modelling, and start thinking about a career where you would be doing something useful, ...but , you seem to be the kind of girl who posseses so much beauty, that it would be a shame if you don't share it with the world. You will have to post some photos of yourself so we can decide. Have you got any of you in lingeree or a bikini?

If this is something you really want to do you need to talk with your mom. Plan ahead, write down the reasons why you want to do this. If she sees how serious you are she may be more likely to help you. Trust your mom to know what is good for you. Be willing to listen to her reasons for why she doesn't want you to model. You might check your town for agencies that specialize in young models or actors.

Ask your mom why and it might be because of money purposes, and being in a modeling agency is a lot of money, so she might just want to not spend her money on a modeling agency. I'm not taking any sides, here. Hope I helped!! Good Luck!

sweetie, modeling isn't as great as it sounds, trust me, i was 14 once too... but if you REALLY want to, try something small. this may sound stupid, but try out for being a JCPennies catalog model. it's fun, easy, no commitment (that's a plus for mom), and you earn a little extra cash on the side.

i don't know what you look like, but if you wanna go pro it's not just gonna happen. start small.

good luck! and whatever you do, don't let your mom getcha down!!

Dont ask her directly. Make it subtle but let her know that youve made the decision to do modeling so your mostly telling her not asking. Something along the lines of
"I think im going to call up the (modeling place) today"

My step daughter did modeling for a while and quit it. She went to Japan and NYC and it was just not what it was cracked up to be. Lot of money spent, also. Think about another career for your future would be my advice.
