They have unrealistic expectations and thought that the ridiculous annoying things which magically disappear or that the other person would suddenly change. Personally, I think that many newly married people give up way too easily and they are unwilling to compromise to keep the peace. Marriage is commitment and labor and both parties have to accept that you have to work hard and ride it out.

People get divorced for many different reasons, so you really are not going to get a great answere to this question.
I dated this man for 6 years, we got married and he became very abusive, both mentally and physically, told me that I could not leave and if I did he would kill me. After 4 years of marriage to this person I did get enough courage to leave. See you never know why somethings work out and some don't.
My marriage now, I was told it would not last, that was 12 years ago!! and now 3 kids later we are still very strong together.

that's because they don't know what the future holds. if a good future or bad future so they sometimes fell in love by their appearance, or what ever made them happy together but later on they find out they weren't made for each other so they go and look for the person of their dream and get divorce. if you ask me I think is stupid getting divorced unless their is abuse, threatening, violence, or any kind of crime felony that can make you stand each other. so in that case go head and get a divorce for your protection.

They don't go into it planning on getting divorced. Not everyone gets divorced.
