He copied a singer from the 1920's with the falseto voice doing Tiptoe thru the Tulips. He was seriously trying to make it as a singer. When he died he was on stage performing.

I think I would classify him as novelty, although he was probably going for serious with a funny side and missed. Truth be told, Tiptoe Through the Tulips weirds me out.....

Tiny was a funny novelty, regardless of what he was trying for. He wasn't nearly as bad as the idiot "Monkees". I know as I lived through both.
