Is there a legal basis in the EC / Switzerland, for making fathers liable for the support of their illegitimate children in Asia ?
The father in question was (maybe still is) an official of the UN / WHO. Does this make any difference?

The father is liable to pay support for a child wherever located even when in Asia.

it may be easier to embarrass him, or his country, into providing than to win and collect on a legal case.
