For example, say you fall madly inlove with a diamond ring your friend has. (FOR GUYS- its your friend's dvd of Footballs Favorite Moments...) It is something that is completely unique and you want to have it, just for a day or two. You want it so badly that your stomach hurts not having it with you! You dream about it and think about it all that time.... But you know if you ask your friend for it, they would not loan it to you, because they know it is unique and wouldn't loan it to God if he asked! But, she/he doesn't pay much attention to it and barely knows they own it!

Would you 'borrow' it without asking THEN return it, if you KNEW they would NEVER find out you had it... Or would you take the moral high ground and act like you never saw it?When it comes down to it, would you choose your morals over your primal instincts?

Morals definitely. If i lost it. A LOT of factors fall out the window and your screwed many times over!

Just "suck it in" that you don't own it.

Most people just do what they feel like doing. If they can be assured beyond a shadow of a doubt that their crime would not ever be detected, they would rob a bank. For these people, pride in thinking of taking the "moral high ground" is just another feeling that has to be weighed with other feelings. No matter what our behavior, our ability for self-justification and rationalization will come to our rescue.
