yes i think they are in the hands of some very untrained folks and all the data is not in on the taser guns -- for instances how does it really effect folks with certain medical conditions!!! i have yet to hear of a report where one cop took on ,more than one person always seems there are more cops and the person getting tased == with my heart condiion i would rather get shot with a rubber bullet or a real one in the arm or leg!!! i have live through them == taser i am not sure i would!!!

If a person has a pre existing condition a taser CAN kill but in most cases it wont.
Police Officers are taught to shoot at the body in a killing shot so the perpetrator doesnt get a chance to kill THEM!!!
It would be better to be tasered by a police officer than shot!!!
Having said that I think the use of tasers is becoming common place and it should be treated as a gun is that is as a deadly weapon!!! Do Not use unless absolutely necessary!!!

I am starting to think law enforcement people are scarred. I can't say that I blame them, they have to play by the rules, there are no rules for the bad guys. Also, look at the weapons that are on the streets today. And if you could tell a bad crazy person from a normal one there would be no problem. But look at some of the things people do and than you look at the person and think I can't imagine them doing that. So I think taser is better than dead! But I also do think they need to use a little better judgment on their part as well.

No not at all, but then again we may have different opinions of what is taser crazy, put yourself in the law enforcement's shoes, people (criminals) today are carrying weapons more than they used to (younger criminals). What would you do in situations like they are put in. Just yesterday in my city a police officer got shot and killed by a 16 yr old gang banger, so no I don't think law enforcement is taser crazy.

Yes, it sure seems so, but I hope these incidents, don't leave a black mark on all of those in law enforcement, because not all in law enforcement are "taser happy." I have watched a few videos of people being tasered, & it really upset me. The video showing the woman who kept getting hit by the taser gun, upset me, especially when she fell & hit her head on the police officers back fender.

easily everybody who gets Tasered merits it. in certainty, there are rather some criminals available who should get Tasered, yet by some potential get away the punishment they deserve via fact they're being compliant. the international may well be a safer place if human beings knew they may well be punished rapidly and right this moment for doing some thing incorrect.

No. I think people are putting themselves in dangerous situations without knowing what is in store for them if they decide to act like jerks around Law Enforcement Personell & Security Officers! Perhaps all of this negative press will help to keep people in line in the future! It's sad that these things happen, but the alternative is worse...they could go back to the old ways & start using real bullets again! People need to learn to control themselves in stressful situations & if they are traveling to a country that speaks a different language than their own,...they should have a translation dictionary or electronic device to assist them in getting the help they will need from people who can't understand them! Throwing chairs & yelling will get you nowhere FAST...in any language or country!

No. The strength of the electric current delivered by one of those devices is about that contained in a "AA" battery. But, I also think there are a certain number of police officers who can't use (or were never taught) the "four-point" takedown used in mental health facilities to subdue unruly patients. I've seen four women, each weighing less than 100 pounds each take down a 250+ pound guy using that takedown technique.

There have been incidents of some law enforcement employees abusing their power with the over use of tasers.
That does not say that all law enforcements personnel are doing so. Also remember that the press will dig for the those renegade incidents and blow them up beyond that really happened.

I think the taser is a really great idea...it seems to help the police control some that do not know how to crontol themselves in a safer way BUT you will have ( sorry ) some usally younger police officers that have that blood flowing to get the bad guy and use them when it really is not called for..I guess in a sense they are able to be trigger happy !
