I have no idea what they are. I want to know. I know what a Wii is, I'm not stupid, i have one. just what does it mean "modded"? and what does that do?

It is a Wii that has been “modified”.
There are several hacks out there for the Wii to allow it to do more than Nintendo intended. Do a Google search for what you are looking for. Nintendo is going to be releasing a “mod” resistant version of the Wii to hit markets soon.
Some of the things you can get the Mod Wii to do are run games from other parts of the world. Great if you travel or have friends overseas.

A modded Wii is a Wii that has been modified to play games that have been downloaded from the internet or from other countries to play that disc.

Modded means that they add a modification chip so it will bypass the security built intop the game cd
that just means yopu can rent a game or borrow it , make a copy with clone cd or another like program and play the game as long as you want
unfortunatley unless you own a retail copy of a game already this is illegal

modded means modified. They did something that is after market. Some people like to hook it up to their blue tooth and make it do weird things like the lights on the controller will glow. Or something to that affect. Modded means modified they use the term also on cars or anything you buy then fix it up or do something drastic to it

its modified with custom body parts or internal components. i hear wii updates can cause mod chips to not work, and that it can damage the wii
