I found something:

"Prenatal Care Act"

Code Section 19-6-15 : It is the further duty of each parent to provide or ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate prenatal care to the child and to the child's mother prior to the birth of the child."

That being said, you may be responsible for half of that bill....Not ALL! She is the mother and is responsible for half. And it sounds like she may be trying to milk you. I would seriously question the $5,000. She is threatening court so you will cough up the cash. Let her go to court. I bet the amount is much less... and worse case scenario, the MAX you will have to pay is $2,500.

Good luck!

Yes it is legal for you to help pay for you unborn babies health care costs!!!! Would you rather she not have gone to the Dr. while she was pregnant with your baby??? If this does go to court and she has $5000 worth of uncovered costs you will be held responsible for half of them. But if she has $10,000 in uncovered cost then you would be required to pay the $5000. You not wanting to pay is like kinda being a dead beat dad, would you let her have the baby and then if your not together not pay her child support? This is kinda the same thing just the baby was still in the oven. Do what is right to keep the peace with the mother of your baby if not for you guys for the baby.

Age of consent in Florida is sixteen years old considering the fact which you heavily isn't over 24 while she is sixteen. there isn't any thank you to have intercourse together with her legally earlier sixteen in Florida. whether, in Minnesota age of consent starts off at 13 years old as long because of the fact the older guy or woman isn't any extra beneficial than 4 years older, so your 18 to her 15 would not be unlawful.

You should split it 50/50. That's how this situation got here. You should be smart too ... look at all the receipts and divide them equally.

You shouldn't have to pay for all of it. Its her child as well.

However, piss her off enough now, and she'll have you pay child support for the next 18-20. And she'll probably milk it for all its worth.
If she couldn't afford it, she should have gotten medicaid. Then it wouldn't have cost anything.
Do you have proof of her bills or is she trying to just get you to straight up give her 5 grand?

Well, if you are the father, it would be nice of you to help her. I don't think she can legally make you pay for any of it. It's her bill, her insurance and her responsiblility. Again, not supposed to, but it would be nice if you would help her??
