I'm sure caffeine is best avoided if possible but it's all relative. It's no where near as bad as drinking or smoking but still not healthy...
I wouldn't deprive a mother of her caffeine either tho :D

I know first hand that 2 cans of Pepsi a day while pregnant is fine. I have 2 boys ages 10 and 7 and am 16 weeks along with baby #3 and all is fine with the first 2 and the 3rd one looks fine also. I too am addicted to Pepsi and as long as your not drinking a 6 pack a day your fine. I have talked to my Dr.'s with all 3 of my babies, (they have all had different Dr. due to the city or state where we have lived) and they have all told me that in moderation caffeine is fine during pregnancy.

Its really not the caffeine so much as its all the processed sugars. Sodas are full of high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, and heavy syrup.
If you just don't let yourself near the vending machine, or if you just stop buying it, after a while when you do have it, it tastes bad.
I used to drink 3 or 4 cans of pepsi a day, but then I became a surrogate and moved to live with my aunt and uncle. They don't buy soda, so I went without. At first it was very hard, but 6 months later, I tried some for the first time, and almost gagged on the way it tasted sooo bad!
You could try switching to hot tea. It still has the caffeine boost you need, but its much better for you, and good for your system. After a while of that, you can wean yourself off so that you can drink caffeine free tea.

My doctor said that 2 or 3 cans of soda that contains caffeine or 1 cup of coffee a day is fine. It's okay as long as you aren't drinking a lot of it. Studies that have shown caffeine to have an effect on the baby, have been with 300mg or more... much more than 2 or 3 cans of soda.
By the way... I drink a few sodas a day and I am 37.5 weeks... and everything is going great!

Aversion to foods like eggs and chicken are normal. Doctors think it leads back to our forefathers. Your body is naturally rejecting foods that tend to carry a lot of bacteria to help protect baby :) Ginger tea (aim for a mild one) is a good thing to try. Most of the ginger teas were too strong and spicy for me, so I bought some ginger root from the grocery store and would boil about a 1/2 inch cube in a mug of water and drink that with just a little honey. Peppermints helped me as well. I'd buy a bag of peppermint candies and keep a few stashed in my purse, car, work bag, and coat pockets so I'd always have some. The mints ALWAYS helped my belly. I know doctors say tums are ok, but I don't like the idea of taking too many meds. I hope this helps! Nausea sucks!

The best & most qualified person to ask is a doctor. Personally, I know too much caffeine isn't good for anyone under nornal circumstances, so perhaps, it's best to cut way down, if you can't cut it out permanently. Try drinking lots of water daily, & maybe it'll help you get away from Pepsi.

In moderation it is fine. Having a can a day isn't going to harm your baby. However, if you are worried, you could always switch to caffeine free drinks(pepsi).
I drink tea and have an occasional Starbucks. My baby boy is growing and doing just fine. We just had an appointment and he is at 1 pound 11 ounces, has a strong heart beat, and was very active.

I use to drink like 3 pops a day, once i found out i was pregnant I went down to 1, and later on in the pregnancy (2 trimester) I had one every so often.
But now it helped because i only drink one like everyother day...which is much better then how i use to be

You can drink it just not as much. I had the same problem Coke was my favorite drink so it was very hard for me to stop but I did. It's best for the baby. So after talking with my doctor now I only have a coke twice a month, as my one little personal treat lol. My doctor told me that was fine and my baby has been doing great throughout this whole pregnancy.

I'm sure this isnt' going to be a popular opinion but I don't think it's a big deal. If anything, I'd try to get down to one can. If you want to be a puritan, no caffeine is obviously the best. I always drank one cup of coffee in the morning and did throughout all my pregnancies. My pregnancies were all fine but then again, just because it works doesn't make it right!

Nothing wrong with caffeine.
When I was pregnant, coffee was the only thing I can drink and my now 15 year old son is fine. No side effects and no complications at all.
