I'll confess!! I did that one year with ALL of my presents and was so disgusted with myself, because I have always liked surprises..which isn't always easy, cuz I usually end up figuring out what someone is getting me..but when I read your answer I had to smile cuz I ended up ripping the paper a little on my gifts that year too, and fussed and tried to figure out a way to hide it...looking back now, I can probably say with almost 100% accuracy that my Mom or Dad never bothered to look at them before they got handed out to see if they had been 'tampered' with...Please let me wish you and all those you love a very Merry Christmas and a Holiday Season that is filled with many Loving, Beautiful, Peaceful, and Heart-Warming moments...;0)

No, I never took paper off any packages. One time, though, my brother and I snooped in the closet and found two books; one for my brother and a different one for me. We were thrilled when we saw the different books, but my parents found out about it (it really IS true that Mom has eyes in the back of her head!). When we opened our gifts on Christmas morning, my brother received the book meant for me and vice versa.
It cured both my brother and myself of snooping at Christmas time!

HAHAHA when I was little I would very carefully open all of my presents just enough to see what was inside and they close them back up. My parents never could understand why I didn't get up at the crack of dawn to see what Santa brought.

Yes I did! I took some scissors and cut the tape off and opened it slightly and to tape it back up, I just put tape on the places where it was so they wouldn't notice!!!!!!!!! works every time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

of course..it's called knowing how to rap them up the same way your parents did ..so here is the plan you watch them rap it up and then you open them up and rap them up the same way...they will never suspect a thing! hahaha
