No, don't go there. Even if you don't receive fair payback for your kindness, don't be a user and a taker. Karma may or may not be a valid concept, but I find taking the high road in ALL things keeps me true to the person I want to become. Negative , greedy, deceitful, or dishonest acts only diminish you. So even if you "lose", you really win.
