Bring a good range of clothing.. Most people bundle up way too much, especially if you'll be skiing/snowboarding at Mammoth. It tends to be pretty warm (even though there's so much snow) and sometimes incredibly sunny there. Bring sunblock for sure. A light jacket or windbreaker would be good, and a heavier jacket in case it gets colder. Plenty of layers will help. Of course snow pants, boots, gloves, and a hat. If you don't have all that stuff, ask your friend to borrow it.. he or she probably has plenty of extra snow gear. Have fun! How exciting that you will see snow for the first time! I've got a little more than two feet of snow on the ground here, and winter has just begun.

Anything clothing you can layer. Lots of socks. Boots. Columbias are good brand. Good coat too. Again Columbia's a good brand. Hat, gloves, scarf. You get all of these and still be fashionable. And believe me, if you've never been in snow, you'll want them. I'm from the Northeast, I know. You're going to freeze your behind off. But there's nothing like snow. You'll have a blast. Oh, look for these little packets called hand warmers. They are great!

OMG! You have a very good friend. Go to Walmart, get gloves, ski pants, warm socks, some kind of shoes with tread on them, just get your friend to help you, she will know, dont forget a good moisturizer and some chap stick. Dont buy the stuff up there, you will pay double.

Very warm and synthetic clothing. Cotton sucks up the water. You'll love it.
