Have you ever made it as clear as you can to a person that you are not interested in them but they refuse to leave you alone and keep trying to have some kind of relationship with you? What do you think is making these people do this?

They just really want you. And they are determined to you. It becomes a challenge, a game almost.

Have you ever not gotten the hint? I didn't leave an ex of mine alone even after we broke up because I thought I would be miserable if I didn't have somebody with me. This person obviously feels that you complete some empty hole in their lives. Time has a way of healing this, and so does a relationship with another.

Well, I wouldn't be married to my husband right now if he left me alone and didn't keep trying to have a relationship with me when I was very clear and very definite on the fact that I didn't want a relationship with him.

I broke up with him 2 months after we started dating. I was bored and didn't really want to continue dating him. He refused to give up and he kept pushing to be around me. Eventually, the following February, I began to actually have some sort of feelings for him. That was in 2003.

So, it just depends. If they really want to be with you, and care enough, they may keep trying because they want to be with you.

Never understood why some people can't take no for an answer. Think a lot of people just can't stand to be told no. I'll bet it's a control thing.

I know what you mean....you are probably being too nice -- to not hurt feelings. Sometimes, if things are this serious, you are forced to hurt someone's feelings. BE HONEST. They may "hurt' and you may be worried about that BUT we all get over hurt feelings with time. Protect YOU......and your privacy......and YOUR life. The people who are important to you will be there....sounds a tad obsessive to me.

lol yeah, it's annoying. you just have to stay focused and continue to ignore them. if they don't get the point soon enough then I say go ahead and be mean about it.

I think they do it because they think you're joking
