I didn't hear my baby's heartbeat until I was 16 weeks along! In early pregnancy, unless everything is in the right position, it can be difficult to find the heartbeat. I went week after week with nothing, but every time the doctor couldn't find it, she'd do a little check with the ultrasound machine to make sure everything was okay. Don't worry, you'll hear that beautiful music soon! Best of luck and congratulations!

My doctor says you can hear it from about 10 weeks. Your doctor should have given you an ultrasound just to make sure everything was ok. I had that happen to me actually twice. So my doctor had me go for an ultrasound right away just to make sure the heart was ok. but the baby was just moving around too much for him to find the heart beat! I am only 11 weeks 5 days and i have had 3 ultrasounds already. the first one when i was 6 weeks 5 days for my first prenatal visit, 10 weeks 5 days for my second visit (couldnt find heartbeat), and today, at 11 weeks 5 days (also couldnt find heartbeat) i was having abdominal pains which were caused by constipation :/ but good luck! i hope everything goes well for you and baby!

YEs that has happened tome. The doctor couldn't find the heartbeat at 11 weeks, but I also had an ultrasound a couple days after that and saw it. (thats not why I had the ultrasound though). My doctor reassured me it's VERY hard to hear the heartbeat that early. Dont worry! Everything will be fine. Congrats

I think sometimes it's hard for them to hear the heartbeat that early on the Doppler. I'm 14 weeks and just had a doctor's appointment today, and before they used the Doppler on me, they said it might be too early to pick it up (but they were).
Just try to relax and not worry and you'll see what happens at your ultrasound.
Good luck.

At 11 weeks, babies are so small and have to be in just the right position for the Doppler to hear the heartbeat. It really does happen all the time.
I know you freaked out...but please believe that everything is OK...and your ultrasound will prove that to you.
If you were miscarrying, you'd know it.
Don't let stress ruin the enjoyment of being pregnant.
Best wishes and congratulations!

Try not to worry - it is not unusual to not hear fetal heart tones on a doppler until a few weeks further along than you are.

Not to worry dear, my daughter is 24w5d and she had her first OB appointment when she was 10 weeks and they told us not to be surprised if they couldn't pick up my grandsons heartbeat because it was early. They found it but they were very surprised.
Have fun at your ultrasound, they are awesome. Congrats.

I was told that they wouldn't really expect to hear anything until 15 weeks.
Please don't worry. If they'd been remotely concerned you'd have been sent for an ultrasound immediately.
Good luck for Thursday xx

I've never been pregnant, but I wanted to tell you to just trust your doctor, if it was anything to worry about they would've said something. I'm sure they have your best interests in mind and would do anything to ensure the health of you and your baby. Really don't worry and I hope you have a healthy baby. :)
