Are you against legal Canadian immigrants to the USA? I was over at the immigration category before and most of the regulars in that category want the borders to be closed and all immigration (even legal) stopped.

I'm 16 and I would like to live in the USA one day. I think it's a great country and unlike most people these days, I think it's a nice place to live and I would rather live there than here in Canada. Americans, would you be mad if I (or any other Canadian) immigrated (yes, legally) to the United States?

Americans tend hate all immigrants. Besides why would a Canadian want to move the U.S. when Canada is a far better country. atleast one that cares more about its citizens than the USA.

I personally have no thing against Canadian Immigrants, my Great Grandfather was one. I just don't understand why someone would give up all the good things they have in Canada to live in country that's slowly becoming fascist, and is ruled by the village idiot.

I grew up in Wisconsin, one my grandmothers grew up in Canada, so I think you should immigrate to the US, if that's what you want. There's a lot of anti-immigration fever going on right now, but supposedly, the majority of Americans favor legal immigration. So I wouldn't let it stop you, do what is important to you.

I've known several Canadian immigrants to the U.S., and I've worked with others. I always tried to treat them well, because I spent time in Canada and they were always good to me, plus I loved the Labatt's Velvet Cream Porter. Fine people, those Canadians - and they gave us Neil Young!

We welcome you! Don't take serious advice from YA! People here mainly give you their opinions, based on whatever... Check with the immigration department online. My Canadian son-in-law is finishing up his immigration process soon and will move down here. Go to university in Canada, as it's cheaper. That's what my daughter and son-in-law are doing and will move down here when they are done. Then when you get here, you'll be more prepared to get a good job.

I have nothing against legal immigration. It's people who willingly break our laws and sneak across our border that angers me.So no I wouldn't be mad if you immigrated here legally.

Most Americans will accept all immigrants who go through the legal process, who assimilate to American culture, who are productive citizens and not parasites, who speak English as the national language, who respect our flag, our people, our right to elect gvt (though not perfect).

We do have a problem with the illegal aliens who prevent honest people from entering who are truly seeking sanctuary from oppressive govt ie(china) and truly desire to help make our nation be the best we can be. We can only accept a certain number of immigrants and unfortunately it has been the Mexicans coming illegally that has caused such strife in our country. We will will accept and embrace you if you simply follow protocol and not force your nation's culture, language, etc. on us.

Too bad Americans have gotten such a bad rap regarding immigration. We are for the most pro immigration, we are , however, against illegal alien invasion. What nation does not protect her borders?

Here is some vocabulary, especially for the liberals and those who think they know what Jesus teaches.

Alien: According to Scripture (book of Numbers) We are to be kind to the aliens. In those days, the alien was simply passing through, usually a journey and had to hold up a few nights. He/she did not come to stay and set up camp in your back yard, just passing through.

Immigrant: The book of Ruth is the only example I can think of off hand as an immigrant, according to what I believe the Scripture teaches. See, Ruth left her home country with no promise of a better life in Israel (Bethel I believe). She actually left a comfortable life to follow her mother-in-law and care for her. She forsook her language, customs, etc. and said "Your people, land, God, will be mine" (paraphrased).

Lastly, the Good Samaritan: Well, the good samaritan gave from HIS OWN PERSONAL posessions to the man at the wayside. He did not take from my purse what I need for my family and give to an invader. He took from his own pocket to help, it was his choice.

I apologize for the wordiness, but I hope you see that most Americans are really good people and welcome anyone who wants to be a true American, and the first step is abiding by our procedure in the first place to get here.

Nativism is becoming rampant again today.
Give it some time and the intelligent people will gain power again.
Legal immigration helps a country grow and change for the better. Its the foundation of America.
