This is just south of Sunnyvale, in Cupertino, but try these:

Comics and Cards (n the shopping center across from Sears, at Wolfe and Homestead --not the Vallco MALL)

Legends (in Vallco Mall... Wolfe & Homestead)

and maybe the hobby shop (if it's still there) at the corner of Bollinger and Wolfe-Miller.

(or one of those should be able to tell you where the closest tournaments are)
