Take it from me... the word that will help you understand this the best is "unaware." A naive person won't be aware of something that most of us see right away. For example, if someone says, "Hey look! It's President Bush in the closet!" The naive person will actually believe it, whereas the others will all be aware that it's just a joke or prank.

naive cames from French "naive", what derived from Latin "nativus".

"Nativus" means "given by birth", "natural".

Being naive means to be in a certain state of mind, characterized by the impossibility to imagine something cruel and/or mean.

It describes how children are, before they are going to learn, that not everything/one is nice and something/one can harm persons and things.

Mainly it is used to describe a person with a lack of imagination, insofar a s/he didn't even discovered the possibility of the existence of an evil.

The person described as naive is seen as someone who didn't see all possibilities. This is not necessary a negative thing. It could also mean the person is still "young and hopefull".

"Naive" means that one doesn't understand right off the often negative implications of day in day out actions, seemingly routine conversations, or interactions with others. It means inexperienced in the evil ways of the world. It means that one expects the best in the face of the worst.

It's a brand of water spelled backwards...EVIAN. Ever think about that? What EVIAN spells backwards.
NAIVE means you are ignorant about certain things and will believe what you're told, or you don't have much experience in certain social settings and have a difficult time judging proper responses to certain experiences. NAIVE people often buy EVIAN water thinking that bottled water (filtered, tap water) is better than regular tap water.

it means not fully mature enough to understand everything. WE are all naive in the inside because we will never know everything and understand the meaning of life. I hope this helps! =D

Naive is basically someone innocent and gullible, whose likely to fall for any notoriety. Well something to that effect :)

It's a younger more innocent version of ignorance. :)

Notice how children are naive, and how adults are ignorant.
